The 2009 SCY New England Championship Meet at Harvard this past weekend was a huge success for BC Masters. To help you understand where our excitement and enthusiasm is coming from, you should understand the recent history of our team:
In 2006, the team had 3 participants and finished 28th with 145 points.
In 2007, BC doubled their "squad" with 7 athletes registered and finished with 452 points in 20th overall.
In 2008, 19 BC Masters swimmers stepped up to score 1377.5 points, moving into the "medium" team division, and placing 11th overall.
In 2009, the team had 29 swimmers race, bumping us into the "Large" team category, finishing 6th overall with 1928.5 points.
I think it is fair to say that we are "running with the big dogs."
Congratulations to everyone who participated in this year's Championship.
It is about time that we had a place to post some photos and highlight some of the fantastic accomplishments of our team. Let's use this blog as a place to share pictures and post workouts and perhaps a calendar of social events. We have such a great group this Spring - the most active BC Masters team in years.
